§ 15-146. Purpose of division.

This division shall be liberally construed to encourage and compel the exercise of parental control in a continuous and consistent manner so as to reduce the instances of unauthorized absences of schoolchildren, and prevent, where possible, the neglect of parental responsibility in the enforcement of the state law requiring school attendance.
